Who publishes Check WoW, who hosts it, and how to reach someone about it.
Not reviewed by a lawyer. This document describes accurately how the site is built and how it actually handles your data — every statement in it was checked against the code. It has not been through legal review, so treat it as a faithful description rather than as settled legal drafting. If anything here turns out to be wrong, tell us and it gets corrected.
Publisher
Check WoW is published by a private individual, as a personal non-commercial project. It is not a company, sells nothing, carries no advertising and runs no affiliate links.
Under article 6-III-2 of the French LCEN, a non-professional publisher may withhold their name and address from the site itself provided the host holds those details. They are held by the host named below and are disclosed to any judicial authority that requests them. Anyone with a legitimate need to identify the publisher can write to the address in the Contact section.
The individual who publishes the site is also the person responsible for its content, and is the data controller for the purposes of the GDPR.

The server that runs this site and stores its database is located in Paris, France. Nothing on it is replicated outside the European Union.

Character names, realm names, achievements, item and spell artwork, and every other element of the game shown here belong to Blizzard Entertainment. They are displayed under the terms of Blizzard’s public API, which permits fan sites to present this data. Nothing on this site is an official Blizzard product or communication.
Ranking and progression figures sourced from Raider.IO and Warcraft Logs remain the property of those services and are shown with attribution wherever they appear.
The site’s own code, design, written guides and editorial text are the work of the publisher. Reusing them requires permission, which is usually given — ask at the address above.
Reporting content
If something published here concerns you — a profile, a review, a character page — you can report it from the page itself, or write to the contact address. The Moderation Policy sets out what happens next and how long it takes.
Character data comes from Blizzard’s public API and reflects what the game itself makes public. A player who does not want their characters visible can hide them in their Battle.net privacy settings; they disappear from here on the next synchronisation.
